Daniel Connal Partnerships - Chartered Serveyor

BOB JUNIPER FRICS FFB FCIArb PARTNER

“I see surveying in its various forms as the means of providing one’s own expertise for the benefit of clients….. and satisfied clients make satisfied surveyors”

Work and Clients:
Bob is Senior Partner and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He opened the Colchester office in 1971. He has promoted the development of the firm's wider services from its original traditional Quantity Surveying roles but recognises the value that clients place upon core skills of contract and cost management. Considerable experience in contract administration led on to his interest in dispute resolution. He now acts regularly as a Mediator, Adjudicator, Arbitrator and Expert. Clients have been numerous and varied and many commission the Practice on a regular basis.

Before DCP:
Bob joined the Practice in Southend on Sea directly from Chelmsford King Edward VI Grammar School.

Member of:
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

  • CEDR Solve.
  • Faculty of Building.

  • What he likes about being a Surveyor:
"Procuring and managing building work successfully, requires interesting insight and understanding of a wide selection of clients' own businesses and assisting to identify and meet their particular priorities.
Building projects are often described as alive. They are about contracts but also people as much as bricks and mortar. There is rarely a dull moment.Surveying provides me with variety, challenges and satisfaction."

    Interests outside work:
Bob is married to Vivien and has three children, one living in California. Family life still happily occupies a large part of his time outside the business. Fly fishing provides an opportunity for relaxation and is not so energetic as the football and squash of earlier years but the golf clubs do not yet see as much of the course as Bob hopes they might at some future time. He is a Trustee of Headway Essex.
