The Daniel Connal Partnership was appointed directly by Flegg High School to re-examine the feasibility of delivering a new Technology Centre considered impossible to achieve within the existing local authority frameworks. Through diligent cost planning and value engineering, DCP confirmed that the client’s requirements could be achieved within the DFES funding allocation whilst still achieving a building of architectural merit. The lsi Architects designed facility provides a lecture theatre, class-room, meeting room, WC’s and kitchen.
The Daniel Connal Partnership acted as Quantity Surveyor, preparing an initial budget estimate, undertaking cost planning, preparing tender documentation and providing postcontract cost monitoring and control including settlement of final account. Acting as Planning Supervisor, DCP ensured due consideration for health and safety was given within a busy school environment and alongside a larger adjoining building site within the school.
