Following an unsuccessful attempt to procure the project within available funds, the Daniel Connal Partnership was commissioned as quantity surveyor to re-examine the procurement choice and undertake value engineering to deliver the project within budget. Working closely with the client and design team, led by Paul Robinson Partnership, DCP undertook regular cost planning and prepared bills of quantities to ensure tenders were received within the budget.
The facility provides a race-view restaurant and associated kitchens, executive lounges and viewing terraces.
The Daniel Connal Partnership undertook post contract cost monitoring and control including liaising with lending institutions and grants bodies. The contract, which ran whilst racing continued at the stadium, lasted just under 12 months with completion achieved before Christmas 2006. DCP achieved early final account settlement giving the client financial certainty and delivery within the cost plan.
