Risk Management

Much of our work in procuring construction works concerns the reduction of risk for the parties involved. Dispute resolution services are also provided on other projects where we are appointed to assist.
Arising from this experience, the Practice is able to provide Risk Management services, not only on projects on which we are already appointed but also on others where we may not otherwise be involved. In some cases such a completely independent risk manager has been preferred.
The extent of our service will always be at our client’s discretion, but it usually commences with a meeting of all parties which may include, for example, representatives of the funder, client, professionals, preferred main contractor and principal sub-contractors. At this meeting, all are encouraged to take part in identifying possible risks to the project and to prioritise them according to their possible effect. This is often a strong team building opportunity.
The management of those risks thereafter is then allocated, controlled and monitored.
The added value of this service is clear.
We may also be appointed to stand by in order to assist in the event that any difficulties or disputes nevertheless arise, but the likelihood of such events will have been reduced by this process.
